Deepa is on the Nolij DT&E Team as both a QA Test Lead and as a Deputy Project Manager. She joined Nolij in 2016 and has multiple certifications for Scrum Master and Certified Software Tester (CSTE), Systems Analyst and Software QA Test Engineer. Deepa came to the USA 21 years ago from India and at first found it challenging because she had to overcome language, work and driving hurdles.

Deepa started off with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and then switched to teaching while her children were young before deciding to pursue a career in technology. Deepa changed fields because she felt there was more flexibility and growth opportunities in technology. She hopes to add to her skill set with gaining more experience with automation tools, UFT and UiPath.

Her advice to others, especially women who need to balance family and work, is to consider IT as a profession because it’s diverse and has a quick ramp up time: “within 6 months to one year, you can have a certificate that qualifies you to be a tester or QA analyst” said Deepa.
